Kids love to jump off the wall that extends into the water from the beach. The water is not very deep, so they wait till a wave comes by and they jump into the wave. There are "no jumping" signs on the wall, but that doesn't stop them. In a recent incident, a kid jumped into an incoming wave, but landed on a body surfer. The jumper's foot caught the other kid's ear and almost servered it.

I haven't see it in a while, but kids (and adults) used to "borrow" those plastic trays from fast food restaurants and use them as mini boogie boards.
