SOLD! For now, just the important stuff, quick and dirty. I'm selling my '92 Camaro, if you're interested, check out the pictures. Asking
You can probably already guess at how this car behaves from the spec sheet. Here's some additional info. The car is loud and smells like gas. If you're into muscle cars, this is perfect. It has a rough idle, but doesn't die at complete stops. Brake torque burnouts are no problem with this car. Step on the brake, give it some gas and at almost 2000 RPM the rear tires will start spinning. If you're cruising at low speeds, step on the gas just short of flooring it and it kicks down and your rear wheels are just on the edge of breaking traction as you hear your tires squeal. I haven't tried cruising at low speed and flooring it because I'm sure the rear tires will just break loose. The trans has a shift kit installed, once you get the hang of it, you can control how much chirp you make when you shift gears. Stay light on the gas and you get a small kick and maybe a small chirp at the same time so people don't mess with you. Step on it mid-way and you get the classic chirp when it shifts. I don't do this too often as it makes it look like I'm acting up. Step on it hard (without flooring it or you'll burnout) and when it shifts you barely feel it because the rear tires break loose and you just get a long screech when it shifts.
If you're into imports, hey, the price is right on my Camaro. Why not get a V8 so you can have both ends of the spectrum? RWD (oversteer) is fun, you get to do the mild fishtails when you want. Just be careful, turning and flooring this car at the same time is not recommended, I easily ended up perpendicular to the curb when I overcorrected after swinging one way then ending up facing the other direction with my heart beating like mad. This engine has a carb intake, no EFI, so tuning and maintenance are simple. Have you seen a stock 3rd Gen engine compartment? Well, any modern engine compartment is just packed with junk, mostly emissions control stuff. Check my engine compartment, yes, you can actually see the ground when you look into it!
Why am I selling it? I don't drive it anymore. I purchased this car 2 years ago when it had 30,457 miles on it. The first year, I put 2200 miles on it, this past year, I put 250 miles on it. It currently has 32,971 miles on it. Other reasons why I want to sell this car? I need the money soon for personal reasons. I want my garage space back. BTW, this car is kept in an enclosed garage. I hate paying insurance on a car I barely drive. Finally, please drive responsibly. If you kill yourself, that's bad enough. Hurt an innocent bystander and that's something else. Take it to the tracks. P.S. Before you ask, this car gets < 10 MPG. Gotta love it... P.P.S. A couple of months ago, I was on H-1, took a look in my rear view mirror and saw a 3rd Gen coming up on me from behind (I was driving my Maxima). Looked nasty, totally intimidating. The first thing I thought was, "Gee, do I really need to sell mine?" P.P.P.S. If you take this guy to the tracks, throw some slicks on it and let me know how you do. |
