NOTE FROM THE PUBLISHER To change. In this issue, we continue our coverage of Chicano Mexican American life styles. Firme has received muchos compliments on our first issue, volume one, number one, reinforcing our belief in media owned and operated by Chicanos for Chicanos. We must take what belongs to us. The most valuable commodity around is ourselves. We can build a better mas firme barrio society, truly a la brava. The success of this magazine stands on this premise. The chisme this month is the "debate" over whether Firme is a ranfla magazine or a cultural magazine. We all know of the creative Chicano mente. "Cars as Art." A lot of jale goes into a firme ride, and most of the work is done by the owner himself. We like to give credit where credit is due. As for you vatos who disagree, "Bueno hay tienen los magazines de los gavas, tu sabes, 'Street Chatter,' 'Hot Chatter,' y 'Road y Traques,' etc. "A puro bore! Con nada de estilo!
